Are you looking for a fun addition to your garden? Maybe you have a small apartment and miss having a garden? Mushroom grow kits are a great way to grow your own food - even in small apartments with little sunlight. They can also be a fantastic way to stimulate your child’s mind while they are learning from home.
Pink oysters are always fun to grow. The colors range from light pink to a deep red hue depending on a variety of growth factors. Pinks have the most umami flavor and really hold up well for fried dishes. Their fruits don’t weigh very much despite the thick caps but they are sturdy enough for a proper meat replacement.
Using little more than a bottle for misting or a damp towel, you can create the perfect conditions to fruit oyster mushrooms. All you need to do is cut, tape and mist. We’ve already done the hard part by selecting safe mushroom strains that are easy to grow and produce tasty fruiting bodies. Users often harvest up to a pound or more over a couple of harvests. Mushrooms typically start to form within the first 7-10 days of starting your block. Detailed instructions can be found on ourFruit at Homepage.
While we typically have inventory in stock, we occasionally have a 7-14 day backlog during periods of high demand.
How it’s made:
Our mushroom blocks are grown from scratch right here in Hawaii. We gather waste materials from local companies across the Food & Beverage industries to agroforestry, pasteurize, and then inoculate with our lab-selected mushroom culture. This ensures that you have the best chances for a successful harvest. Please note that this is a living organism and needs to be treated with care. This item will ship with instructions and customer support is available should you have any questions or concerns.
These brown oyster mushrooms are hearty, heavy, and super tasty. Nibble on them fresh and you’ll experience a toasted nuttiness that’s so ono. Mix them in your baked Mac ‘n cheese and your children will beg for more!
These brown oysters typically take a few days longer to fruit, but you’ll be rewarded with huge clusters - each often weighing 0.75 pounds for your first two harvests. The stems are soft and sometimes thick, so treat them like a king oyster and use the whole thing.
Each kit comes with easy-to-use instructions: cut the bag where you want it to grow from and mist that opening 2-3x a day for a week. It's important to keep the humidity at 90% or above until fruits start to form. After several days you'll be ready to harvest your fruits. To harvest, simply grab at the base of the fruiting body and twist/pull the fruit like picking a tomato. Trim the base and dust of any debris before eating or storing in the produce section of your fridge.
Some growers will benefit from using a fruiting chamber, moist towel, or even a plastic bag to keep the humidity up throughout the day. Your first harvest should be in 10-14 days, with subsequent harvest appearing at similar intervals.
